About The Author

Sangita Dosanjh, a resident of Derby, England, never planned to become an author. However, inspired by her father’s story, she felt compelled to share a tale that deserved a wider audience. In her own words, “I was recording the last voices of a generation of immigrants from India and Pakistan who changed the course of life for future generations.”

An Ordinary Man, An Extraordinary Life

History is a fascinating subject that keeps millions of people fascinated with near-unbelievable tales from the past. To add to this collection, Sangita plays her own part in documenting an often-overlooked chapter of British historical canon: the journey of the first-generation South Asians who made their home in a country that had been intrinsically linked to their homeland for centuries yet vastly different from what they knew.
